Melissa first discovered interior design when she signed up for an interior design course in high school. Knowing nothing about it, she was completely amazed at the possibilities of floor plans, interior finishes, and changing lives by the spaces people live in. This inspired her to pursue a degree in interior design, and she graduated with a Bachelors of Science in Design, Housing, and Merchandising: Interior Design.

Upon graduation, Melissa went on to dedicate the start of her career to healthcare design, and had experience with non-profits and other commercial spaces. As her career flourished, friends and family consistently asked for design assistance. Finally, she decided to retire her commercial interior design career and dive completely into residential design, and thus, Space Stylists & Company began.

Melissa is dedicated to making design attainable, affordable, and accessible for all, while providing designs that honor the function of the family while maintaining an elegant aesthetic. She started Space Stylists & Company for the ability to continue interior design while raising her kiddos, because being a mama she believes is the most important job she can do.
