May 1st, 2023 marks the first ever Space Stylists & Co. Blog Post. As we are approaching the year anniversary, we thought it might be fun to celebrate by revisiting the first blog post. It truly captures our passion and goals with this blog, and we hope to have accomplished some of what we dreamed of a year ago. For those of you that have been avid followers since last May, we appreciate you! And for those that have joined since then, we can’t wait to share all of the future posts with you. Cheers!
And now, for the blast from the past: Where It All Began, May 1, 2023
Welcome! We are so glad you are here. This is the inaugural blog, the beginning to many blurbs about interiors, family, life, decorating, design, homemaking, tips, tricks… and whatever else comes up on the minds of the Space Stylists.
So who are we? Where did we begin?
Space Stylists was born on a cold January day in 2022. We were sitting in Panera with an idea to be stay-at-home moms, while continuing the dream of being interior designers. While commercial interior design was the main focus of our careers to that point, the demands of in-person meetings, site walks, and long hours were not conducive to being the mamas we wanted to be.
Our name came from the desire to include interior design, interior decorating, and room styling into our offerings. Interior design is what we went to college for, learning to draft floor plans, select finishes, furniture, and manage equipment. Interior decorating is the icing on the cake, rarely found in commercial interiors, it is what makes residential design shine. Selecting pillows, arranging furniture, hanging artwork - all necessary elements to making a house a home. The styling part is needed for real estate, showing homes, and creating a hospitable home to welcome guests. We are interested in it all, and while the 3 areas are separate, they go hand in hand for a beautiful interior.
So this is the beginning, the start of our motherhood and the start of our dreams to be entrepreneurs, the start of the next chapter of how interior design plays into our lives, to share our talents of interior design, decorating, and styling with the world. All while serving our families, and having the honor to assist with creating the home that you live in, and helping you dream up an intentional, beautiful, and functional environment to serve your family too.
