GUEST ROOM GLAM
Many of you have probably seen our latest project addition to our portfolio, the Guest Room Renovation. This was a fun project, incorporating florals, wicker basket details, and a color palette with mauve, grey, and white. If you haven’t seen it, go check it out now, and then come back!!
What was our favorite part? What should you consider including in your own guest room?
Well, let’s chat!
One of our favorite parts to this room is the coordination between the floral canvas art and the curtains. It was one of those happy accidents where the client previously owned the floral canvas art, and we were able to find curtains off of Amazon for a cheap price that happened to match the canvas wall art so well, while also complimenting the mauve chair the client wanted to include. Normally the bed is the highlight of a guest room, and while the basket wall is a beautiful interest, we could stare at the dresser, curtain, and chair corner for hours! (If you are interested in the curtains, message us on Instagram or send us an email and we would love to share the product link with you!)
Guest rooms are a fun area to design, purely because of the hospitality aspect. They can be fairly simple, or feel a little luxurious, but there are a few key items to include:
Pillow Options: There is nothing like a pillow that is too flat or too puffy to give you a stiff neck and give the next morning a bad start. We find it super helpful to include at least 2 pillow firmness options for your guests to choose from for the best chance at a good night rest.
Throw Blanket: This is not only for the “ooh la la, so fancy!!” response, but also practically it gives your guest another way to get snuggly and warm if they tend to get chilled or your home temperature is different than theirs.
Coaster/Glass for water: It can help your guest feel like they are at home by providing them a glass for water by their bed. This removes any question on if you allow water in the bedrooms, and can be helpful if they wake up thirsty, so they don’t have to go rummaging around in your kitchen for a sip.
Space for Items: There are many different ways you can provide space for your guest to unpack. If you can spare the storage, leave a few drawers of a dresser empty for them to use during their stay. If this is not attainable, make sure there is clear space on top of the dresser, or even floor space that is out of a walkway for a suitcase to go. Hooks, closet hanging space, or and over-the-door storage system can all be great elements to include.
Have additional questions? We are always open to chat on our Instagram or email, just send us a note! Here’s to hoping your future Guest Room is as glamorous and hospitable as you want it to be!
Cheers!
