ENTRYWAY UPDATE

The entryway of a home is such an important space. Every visitor, whether they enter or simply chat with you at the door, will have a glimpse of your life by your entryway. This homeowner was in the process of updating their home, and wanted something that gave a moody accent to their front door. Space Stylists stepped in to help make their entryway a little more functional, while keeping a simple and un-obtrusive design for a spacious entry.

What components were key elements to the design? Let’s explore!

  1. Fresh Paint: First thing: paint. The previous homeowner was a fan of the typical beige wall color. While they had white trim around the doors and baseboards, the rest of the home was the orangey-beige you see in the before photo. Our client, the current homeowner, loves bright white spaces with a hint of moody in jewel-tone accents. The white field color, Sherwin Williams Snowbound, wraps the exterior wall of the dining room into the entryway, allowing the door to feel like it fills the whole space. On the perpendicular wall to the entry we chose to feature Sherwin Williams Vogue Green to give a deep and rich feel to the entry space. This accent has a tendency to draw you in, making your entry feel like a warm welcome.

  2. Wall Hooks: The client wanted to have a space available for guests to easily store their coats, jackets, and purses when they came to visit. Instead of hiding the guest’s items in a closet, they wanted their guests to be able to easily access and see their belongings. The design added 7 wall hooks along with a painted board to provide visual interest and structural integrity to the hooks. Now guests can leave their coats and purses knowing they have easy access to them if they left something in their pocket!

  3. Art Collage: This is the fun feature, where the personality of the home can really shine. Space Stylists & Co selected a cozy cottage print that is reminiscent of the new interior home colors for the client. A mirror, some dried florals, and a horizontal art piece bring some visual interest and a little bit of an eclectic vibe to the entryway. The final artwork was a print of a painting of Mary and baby Jesus, as faith is very important to this family, and an entryway without that would not be an accurate summary of their life!

  4. Entry Rug: No entry is complete without a rug to wipe your feet! This rug from AtHome was a cost-effective and perfect solution for the space. The enlarged boucle texture adds some luxury to the space, while the colors of the yarn tie in the white, cream, and black accents of the entry space together.

We love the personality and cozy welcome this new entryway design offers. Do you have an entryway that could use a refresh? Chat with us through email at info@spacestylistsco.com.
