FALL BACK
This year’s end of Daylight Savings is just around the corner. November 3rd we will “fall-back” with our clocks and adjust again to a new schedule. One thing we have talked about briefly on our Space Stylists Blog before is ways to make your home interior mimic that early morning light, bright day light, and cozy evening light throughout your 24 hour day.
How can this be even more important in seasons of change like Daylight Savings? Let’s Chat!
What is Circadian Rhythm?: Circadian Rhythm is our body’s natural 24 hour cycle and tendency to be awake when the sun is up and asleep when the moon is out. The different light associated with sunrise, midday sun, and sunset guide our inner clocks to know when it is active work time and rest time.
Why is it important?: You can feel tired and not like yourself when your circadian rhythm is out of cycle. Our bodies thrive off of routine, and allowing ourselves to have a schedule allows our biological clock to relax and anticipate the next phase of our day.
How can interiors help?: Some of these tips you can find in our previous blog post here. But overall, encourage your space to support your routine. Prep your routine the night before so when you are waking up in the morning your brain has some time to kick into gear. Ease into your day, be active and energetic throughout, and make sure you allow time to wind down properly at the end of the day.
While adjusting to Daylight Savings beginning or ending will likely never be a piece of cake, we hope that by creating a home that functions for you, your body and self will feel supported by your environment, instead of like it is working against you!
Cheers!
