SW COLOR OF THE YEAR

Sherwin Williams has released their 2024 color of the year: Upward. Check out their release here: SW Upward

To be honest - this color came as a bit of a surprise. In 2023, the Color of the Year was a mauve, color called Redend Point, which felt very trendy and funky. This is what we expect from Sherwin Williams Color of the Year, something that pushes the envelope and encourages us to break out of our normal. This year, the color Upward is a pale sky blue, a familiar color, that Sherwin Williams is branding as “a breezy, blissful blue. The color found when we slow down, take a breath, and allow the mind to clear.”

While it surprised us, we are here for it. The soft and blissful blue allows for a breath of fresh air, while keeping a comfy vibe to the year ahead. Here are some design applications that we could see Upward shining in:

  1. Powder Bath: Cue the elegant powder bath, we are dreaming of a Upward blue, white, and gold accent bathroom. Imagine your walls, and ceiling in this dreamy color, with a gorgeous floral wallpaper and glamorous marble look floor tile.

  2. Guest Room: We are getting some country-vibes for a light blue guest room: Upward painted board and batten, a cozy patchwork quilt, and some Delftware pottery in the corner. A warm honey-toned wood would round out this fresh and uplifting guest room that your guests could use to relax and settle in.

  3. Nursery/Playroom: Anyone interested in an Upward painted ceiling? Or accent wall with some cloud graphics? We are! Upward would be a perfect accent for a light and airy nursery or playroom, featuring natural Montessori wood-toned toys, and happy kiddos giggling in the bright and playful space.

If you need some fresh Upward blue in your life, Space Stylists & Co. would love to help you incorporate it. Send us a message at info@spacestylistsco.com. If you’ve got an idea for your home, we can help you make it a reality!

Cheers!
